Camellia Japonica - Pink Perfection
Camellia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to family Theaceae which is native to eastern to southren Asia stretching from Japan to Himalayas in India. The most well known economically important plant of this species is the Camellia Sinensis which is the commonly known tea plant. The family of this particular flowering plant boasts of some of the most outstanding flowering plants mainly of Camellia Japonica species. These plants are reared in private as well as well known public gardens all over the world.
The plant is popular garden flower in China where it is known as 'Pinyin' in Chinese language. It is also being widely cultivated as garden flower in Japan where it is known as 'Tsubaki'. The plant grows in moderately cold environs with good lomous soil of acidic nature and requires adequate to heavy irrigation round the year as it cannot withstand drought conditions. These plants can be reared as potted plants but It is best advised not to rear the plant in your Air Conditioned environs inside the house but in a shaded, humid & airy place.
